Curtain Assembly
D. Finish Coat
These door curtains are
pre-finished with a base coat primer to ensure long
term adhesion and durability. This ensures the
medium gloss silicone polyester premium top coat
keeps your facility looking better with minimal
maintenance. The finish is guaranteed against
chalking and fading for 20 years with 22 standard
colors available.
E. Operation
Standard operation of
doors by means of push-up operation, meets the
American Disability Association standards for
Accessible Design for Opening Force requirement.
F. Curtain
Our self-storage doors are
manufactured from precision roll-formed 26 gauge
pretreated, galvanized and pre-painted commercial
quality 80 ksi steel panels that are mechanically
seamed together for a tough and durable curtain. A
standard 1-inch self-lubricating polypropylene wear
strip is stapled uniformly to the exteriors of the
door to protect against nesting and metal-to-metal
contact and resulting in ultra-smooth and quiet
operation.
G. Curtain Stop
Wrap around stop mounted
on guide positively stops the door in the open
position every time. Adjustable to allow vertically
positive stopping at your desired height.
Brackets & Guides
501 - H. Brackets
In order to meet the tough
demands of self storage, our brackets are made of
14-gauge hot-dipped galvanized steel; and are
furnished with standard low friction nylon bushings
to provide smooth, trouble-free operation for years
to come. Optional steel bearings and ratcheting
tension device are also available.
502 H: Brackets
The Model 502 mounting
brackets, made of the same 14 gauge hot-dipped
galvanized steel, securely lock the shaft assembly
in place. The standard ratchet
tension adjuster is safely
located between the bracket and the drum assembly,
providing maximum protection for the installer and
end-user alike.
I. Guides
Our guides are made from
galvanized steel with a polypropylene strip attached
to the inside edge allowing for many years of quiet
operation. Guides are precision punched and roll
formed to the highest standards of quality and
consistency. Designed with the customer in mind, one
guide type is suitable for all jamb types. Steel,
wood, or masonry, every door is the same. Fasteners
are securely hidden inside the track, yet carefully
positioned away from the travel of the curtain No
rubbing, no pinching, no metal-to-metal contact,
this guide design is ideal for all applications.
J. Polypropylene Wear
Strip
One-inch wide strips are
stapled along both edges of the curtain to prevent
steel-to-steel contact between the curtain and guide
for smoother and quieter door operation. The same
wear strip as used on our commercial roll-ups up to
20' x 16', this edge provides a quieter operation
while ensuring the door rolls the same time after
time.
K. Bottom Bar / Bottom
Astragal
A precision extruded
aluminum bottom bar reinforced with a heavy duty
galvanized structural angle, providing maximum door
strength and more aesthetic appeal. A flexible
full-bulb type PVC astragal provides for long-term
weather resistance and consistent closure to the
finished door.
L. Lift Handle
Our heavy duty lift
handles provide both a handle for easier opening and
a step plate for closing. A heavy duty polypropylene
pull rope is also attached to the inside reinforcing
steel angle for maximum safety and convenience.
M. Latch
Factory installed
zinc-plated slide lock with standard provisions for
two padlocks. Optional cylinder locks and stainless
steel are available.
